Advantageous developments of the method according to the invention for installing a chimney pipe for a heating system in an exhaust stack are listed in the dependent claims. In particular, so-called semi-rigid aids are used for the process according to the invention. The invention also includes an aid for carrying out a method according to the invention. It is provided that the aid is designed as a semi-rigid, elongated element. Such an element may be formed in particular in the form of a wire rope or wire mesh or a semi-rigid rope made of plastic. Usually, the existing plastic rope consists of fiberglass material.
